According to customs data, China imported 33.04 million tons of coal in June, a year-on-year decrease of 25.9% and a month-on-month decrease of 8.3%; exported 780,000 tons of coal, a year-on-year increase of 59.2% and a month-on-month increase of 90.2%; the net import of coal in the month was 32.26 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 26.9% and a month-on-month decrease of 9.5%.
From January to June, China's cumulative coal imports reached 221.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 27.87 million tons, down 11.1%; cumulative coal exports were 3.33 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 21.1%.
By coal type, from January to June, China's cumulative imports of lignite were 83.97 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.0%; imported thermal coal was 76.23 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 24.3%; imported coking coal was 52.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.5%; imported anthracite was 8.61 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 23.9%.
By country, from January to June, China imported 90.98 million tons of coal from Indonesia, a year-on-year decrease of 15.5%; imported 43.58 million tons of coal from Russia, a year-on-year decrease of 4.5%; imported 37.22 million tons of coal from Mongolia, a year-on-year decrease of 4.7%; imported 36.15 million tons of coal from Australia, a year-on-year decrease of 1.4%.
